Remember what I said, fish?
I think I just might like sushi when I get older.
Mom, Dad, and I took advantage of today's crisp, sunny weather and everyone's improved health to go for a couple of walks. First we walked around Stanford, where we saw lots of youths and stopped for lunch.
Then in the late afternoon we strolled around our neighborhood and took a look at the nearby creek.
Even when you have to wear lots of layers, it's fun to spend time outside. Especially when Dad wears YOU!
Today I watched the Niners with Dad over at his friend Andy's house. Sorry, our friend Andy's house. He's my friend too!
I showed up in the fourth quarter wearing my 49ers booties. They got their first lead of the game and rode it all the way to the finish. Coincidence? I think not!
Of course, until that final second was off the clock, everybody was a little nervous...
I even got to see a bit of Aubrey (also wearing some fancy Niners gear!) when she woke up from her nap. Everyone hastened to document the cute overload.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do when Aubrey becomes a big sister. I don't know if I can handle TWO dynamic Nelson girls!
Four months old! And guess what I got for my four-month birthday?
A bronchial infection! Yep, it's the gift that keeps on giving, if mucus is on your wish list. (If so, you are weird. I wanted books and toys and maybe for that teething ring I like to grab to finally end up in my mouth and stay there.)
I spent the day with Mom and Dad seeing the doctor, then getting chest x-rays and peeing in a cup. Through my haze of coughing and sneezing, I managed to give everyone some smiles. I'm feeling pretty low energy, so we're hoping a one-two punch of antibiotics and Tylenol will perk me right up. That and a LOT of sleep.
But let's not dwell on my not being well. Let's share some pics of me back in the full bloom of health, taken by Uncle Nono.
First vacation! First roll-over!
First visit to the local medical clinic since I caught my first cold... :(
(Note the tissue in the foreground.)
The doctor and nurse both noted how sweet I was despite being sick. They should see what a peach I am when I can breathe out of my nose!
It was super windy today, with fits of rain! Not a great pool day, but fun to watch the glistening trees boogie from a sheltered location. I got in some good Grandma-Grandpa time while hanging out on the lanai.
Yeah, I'd say I'm soaking up more than my fair share of Veltman family adoration lately.
I guess it must be pretty fascinating to watch me chew?
Today I got to dip my toes in the ocean for the first time.
I think Mom and Dad were more excited than I was. I mean, it just sounds like my sound machine, and the seawater isn't as pleasant as bath water. Not sure I see the allure...?
I could, however, get behind the whole "hang out under an umbrella and read" concept.
I'm trying to figure out how this whole talking thing works. Uncle Nono was kind enough to let me start my research with his mouth.
The investigation is ongoing.
I took a break this afternoon for a seaside walk. The weather was a bit gray, but it was a nice stroll anyway.
Remember what I said about standing? It's even more fun when you have an interesting surface to stand on -- especially in your bare feet!
I've also been enjoying the local flora and fauna. Everything's so lush and green. There are big bright flowers and chickens that scurry around and make crazy noises! A lot more going on than my backyard at home. I spend a lot of time just taking it all in.
Then, shave ice to refuel! When they asked what size I wanted, I said, "Twice as big as my head." They complied.
Happy 2013, everybody!
So, Mom noticed this morning that I was really twisting my body around on my playmat.
But I stopped there. Then later, I didn't stop! I turned right over!
My sartorial twin Dad was very proud.
But then they made me hang out on my stomach for a while. (Apparently it's safer for me if I can roll over from both sides.) BOO.
Guess they'll have to keep a closer eye on me now...I might roll all over the place!
